Generation Diapers has participated in a few shows. The Market Moms "Mingle & Mocktail" and "The Durham Parent Baby and Kid Show" but on Sunday afternoon I was able to participate as an exhibitor in our first Welcome Wagon - Baby Shower Event.
I was excited and stressed but excited some more. In my past I have presented many projects to clients and spoke one on one with them offering customer service; but never as the owner. It is a responsibility I hold very dear. There was no one else to rely on. The finished product/service is all what I made it to be.
I pondered and thought, and paced and pondered some more. My husband gave me strange looks and offered light moral support. I would ask him questions what about this or that or the other but his ideas just weren't what I was looking for! I would lie in bed rubbing my chin what would be memorable.. what would I need.
I came up with my catcher if you will... Every woman loves chocolate! Attached would be my thought, my proposition. To all moms out there...
Babies should never run out of Kisses... or diapers.Choose to use cloth so you never do!
The night before the show I fought with the print the 'do it yourself business cards' for my loot bag goodies. Then I had to bundle them. With the husband near by and a baby girl into all my business. The trick was to stuff 120 goodies bags with 3 Hershey kisses each, then to attach two tags all before my little one got random items smooched into her mouth. She's teething of course and it feels so good!
I stayed awake late late late. Must have been 2am printing price sheets and FAQ's about our products so when Sunday morning came around I was pooped. I wasn't sure if I had it all but it was going to be what it was going to be!
With my Bummis tote in one arm and my Mac in another I was off to the show. I was stressing because I was late but it turned out I had 2 hours to set up. So perfect indeed. I had never set up my booth before. So much choice... it was all up to me!
It was a great feeling talking to all the moms there. Being a mom myself and being proud to have something of my own. They say sometimes you loose yourself once you have a child. But it kind of seems I have found myself. I still have my regular job as an Office Manager at a local dance studio and helping my husband market his new business. But this was mine. Whether I made a toonie by then end it will be a great ride!
